Hello, my name is Shyvonne Hoover and I am a senior at The Ohio State University. I am majoring in Hospitality Management with a minor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. I am currently working as an Educational Aide at Mifflin High School while also interning as a Senior Adviser.
Being able to intern as a Senior Adviser has allowed me to learn more processes within a high school when planning events. The events are expected to be planned a month in advance and confirmed by the administration as well as downtown. Everything must be approved and there are specific guidelines and budgets we are required to meet and maintain.
I am currently a coach as well for Mifflin. I am the assistant coach for girl's basketball. Being a coach allows me to interact with the students more and be a role model. I am also able to provide them assistance on and off the court whether it is personal or basketball related.
Being a full-time student and full-time school district employee has taught me the importance of time management and being organized. I have also been gracious enough to learn new things under some informative coworkers.
